I am almost 3 weeks into treatment, and I am starting to notice some changes. I am more brighter, more sociable, reduction of symptoms (I was able to eat at Red Robin last night without an episode!), more focused, ibs has gone down slightly. Now I am almost headed for week 3, and things are looking a lot brighter. Now I wonder, what is next for me? Skydiving? Just kidding. All I can say is, I am pretty stoked to be back on the happiness backwagon soon! Hope you all are doing well also with your recovery!
Best wishes. ![]()

College Student in Information Technology and avid PC Gamer, hit the back of my head against a bunk bed and went unconscious for 3 minutes back in 10-28-2012. Symptoms: Occipital Neuralgia. 2 MRI's and CT normal. Currently going through Paxil withdrawals, and psych has me on L-Theanine, Benadryl for zaps, and Lemon Balm. It has eased it by a bit, so I am continuing the treatment till 1 month from now. Made a 98% recovery on April 8, 2013 with only symptoms of pinched nerves/Occipital Neuralgia in the head and is being treated with injections and physical therapy. Was experiencing: Migraines, Headaches, Nausea and Vomiting, Panic Attacks and Anxiety, Depression, Major Insomnia, Brain Fog, Tinnitus, Lethargy, Loss of appetite, Major Heart Palpitations, Occipital Neuralgia has eased a bit. Vitamins and Medicines: , L-Theanine, Omega 3 Super DHA 900mg, Stress B-Complex Extra Strength, Potassium Gluconate 1000mg, Magnesium Malate 1250mg, Vitamin D3 2000 IU, Methylcobalamin B-12 5000 mcg, Vitamin C 500mg, Lemon Balm. Things that helped me: My Vitamin Regimen, Medication, Earplugs (Love these!), Nature Sounds, Hydrotherapy, Neck Pillow with Heat, Heating Pads, Resting, Being Outside! |

Consider,
I have been on the same med for 14 years. Yes, it has great stabilizing effects on the concussion induced symptoms. Please keep in mind that it is not a cure all. You still need to moderate your environment and activities. At your age, I am sure you will want to minimize the dose and duration of taking Paxil. As it continues to build in your body, you may notice some side-effects that are a struggles. So, just remember to not push your limits. You will want to stop the Paxil at some time. You want to have behavior skills that will support being Paxil free. When your doctor want to try taking you off the Paxil, it needs to be done slowly. Some have severe reactions to stopping Paxil. btw, I have tried to stop Paxil and find the symptoms come roaring back.

Pdoc said I had a very depressed brain, a very very depressed brain which is where most of the anxiety and doom feelings came from. It's weird how the two connect, depression and anxiety. Sleep definitely affect how it runs too, if I don't get 7 hours at least, forget it. Just send me back to bed, and even if I go there, I don't get any sleep. Sleep is another thing that affects my days, even changing my sleep schedule is a problem. I am, however, going to a great program with intensive therapy soon. I want my brain to be a happy brain and a happy brain is what will recover in the long run.

Consider, Are you still playing hours of video games each day ? Depression is often the result of brain fatigue from over-stimulation. It can be too much cognitive load from studies. It can also be from too much 'happy stress.' You appear to want to live a very active life.
btw. I wear my ear plugs at Red Robin and sit at an exterior wall. Exterior corners are often the best.

I really don't play hours of video games. More like 30 mins if any at all. I spend most of my days now in bed or talking with friends for a little while. My main problem is trying to strap myself down to nap or rest. I tried reflexology yesterday, that was definitely nice
