First let me start out by saying my sleep is not doing well since I have to wear Temp guard in my mouth for jaw when I sleep...I feel bad for my TBI specialist that I do vestibular therapy and PT with is having to go threw this with me. It is like I progress in one area and then another area starts acting up, because I have so many issues going on with my body.
For instance last week my jaw was acting up, this week my neck, next week it will probably be my feet I don't know.It seems to be cause and affect on my body.We are doing everything slowly and I do everything at home, I am still lite jogging & walking 2 times a week at home. This does help me but once I focus on one area for instance I have been doing exercises on my lower back that is helping but now my neck is acting up! I think I am stressing her out and I know it is her job and I have NO control over this body.I declined the epidural steroid shot in my lower back to do PT instead.I really am trying to steer clear of anymore steroids in that area because made worse with cortisone. We both agreed to physical therapy.Well the lower back is feeling better now here comes the neck again because the cortisone shot is wearing off!I guess I will find out today what we are going to do about this neck.

I have recovered my cognitive function, and I've overcome severe vertigo through sensory integration therapy. Wellbutrin has helped me escape depression. I have recently had a few stress-related migraines, as well as headaches stemming from eye strain. I'm also dealing with tinnitus, lack of stamina, extreme light sensitivity, and eye pain. Diagnosed with 9 different vision issues: convergence insufficiency, pursuit eye movement deficit, egocentric visual midline shift, photophobia, visual information processing delays, accommodative insufficiency, saccadic eye movement deficit, lack of coordination, and central peripheral visual integration deficit. *First concussion: October 2010. I was pregnant and got rear ended. I associated my mild PCS symptoms with baby brain and blamed my light sensitivity on allergies and dry eyes. *Second concussion: December 2011. I hit my head on a wooden beam, saw stars but did not lose consciousness, and I had very disturbing PCS symptoms but didn't go to the doctor. *Third concussion: August 2012. I caused a car accident as a result of PCS symptoms. Thankfully no one was injured but me. My husband confronted me, and I finally sought help and took medical leave from work. My symptoms worsened, and I developed severe vertigo. *Fourth concussion: November 2012. I was riding in a car with a friend and we were hit head on by a driver who lost control of her car. I didn't have a big increase in PCS symptoms. |

I wish it only lasted 6months for me.I am going on 2years and almost out of cortisone shot chances in neck. Then I would need a fusing surgery from bulging C1-C5.That's just the neck.I have a list of problems that has turned into chronic pain on top of PCS,PTSD,vestibular off, tinnitus.I get up to get back down with some other physical problem from my accident.I have so many problems it is VERY hard to sort out at times! It REALLY SUCKS

I really do sympathize with you! It's been two and a half years since my first PCS symptoms, so I didn't mean to make it seem like 6 months of therapy and I was well. Your injuries are more severe than mine were, so you have more to contend with, but you just have to tackle one thing at a time. It is natural and inevitable to feel frustrated by the process, but I hope things start getting better for you!
