Default suffered concussion so dizzy help

hi my name is brett and there is probably info on this topic but it hurts my eyes to browse threw everything and any help would be thankful! So last monday i was cleaning my car and the door slammed shut on my head right on the temple area, i felt tired afterwards but went on with my day, later around 10pm i started feeling out of it and dizzy so i went to ER had CT scan...all clear,

so i just rested and Thursday i saw my doctor and she said rest until monday and get a mri, my main question is the problem im really having is confusion and dizziness and just plain feeling out of it, i havent moved or done anything in a week this is my first time looking at a computer bc it hurts my eyes so much and gives me a headache,

im new to head injuries and dont know much but i keep seeing that vertigo can last for a long time? i mean the blow to the head was hard but not like someone taking a baseball bat and swinging at my skull. thank you for the help im so confused and depressed i cant even get dressed properly.

bmkp13,

Welcome to NeuroTalk. Your doctor has given you proper advice to rest. you are experiencing common concussion symptoms. You are also very early in your symptoms. Most will see good improvements over the first few weeks. There is no way to predict the time it will take to recover. Every concussion is different.

So, do as your doctor said and rest. Try to avoid resting in odd postures. You may have also injured your upper neck so having good straight neck posture is important.

Let us know if you have more concerns.

My best to you.

Default Yes rest

The doc is right -- just rest and don't push yourself at all right now. Don't try to get back too soon into a very busy life.

If that dizziness keep up -- and I mean like a month later, then tell the doctor. You may need vestibular therapy and the neurologist would refer you to a specialist for that.

Just rest and let the brain heal.

Take care

[SIZE="1"]What happened. I was in a car accident 2-23-2013, and got a mild concussion from it. I had some time off for brain rest, got somewhat better, but slipped into PCS in March 2013.

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines,

Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something.

Therapy I had: vestibular

3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling.

9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms.
I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery.

Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired.
