Smile 22 months in and things are much improved

Hi Everyone,
just want to let you know how things are after 22 months in.

I actually managed the pictures last week without ear plugs and sunglasses. first time ever!!!!
we watched Captain America, so lots of action scenes but was ok with that and no real after affects. that tells me things really are getting healed.

I Have had no major symptons in a while, unless I over do things or get stressed, in which case they return but only very slightly and then they seem to subside very very quickly after wards.

To all you newbies on here I really feel what you are going through and how hopeless everything seems, but things will and do improve, but you cannot rush it.

If I have learned one thing, it is take your time don't expect instant healing.
There are no magic cures for this just time and lots and lots of rest.
Listen to your body and do what it tells you.

Things that helped me were yoga, meditation, massage, cranial massage, cutting out alcohol, caffeine, slowing down my pace of life and a good diet with plenty of water.
I did not take any medication as I felt my body was under enough stress already and did not want to add to it.
We are all different so these things may not work for everyone.

BUT
Most important a good network of family and friends to support you....

Its been a hard struggle, worst one of my life but I have also learned a lot from it and use this in a positive manner now.

I also want to say a special thanks to everyone on this site for all your constant support and positive attitude which has been instrumental in my recovery, I could not of done it without you all.

I wish you all a (I wont say speedy but I mean speedy) recovery and hope you are all healing well

lots of Love

Carole xx
