My neuropsych said on a level they can't see, cells are stretched, torn, twisted and chemicals leak in and out of them. I don't completely understand it all or remember all I've been taught about it, but there are very knowledgable people here

My head went many different directions as there were multiple impacts during my car accident. It's been 18 months today and I can't function normally. What you are experiencing is real and so hard emotionally, mentally, and physically. Do not doubt yourself.

Your workmans comp doctor is the same as my 12 year old diagnosing you. Actually worse, my 12 year old has a brain injury and knows what it's like. The doctor is ignorant of a brain injury and can do MUCH damage to you than help or is trying to save $. Go to a neurologist!!! A very good one that handles brain injuries. You have a brain injury.

It CAN cause PERMANENT damage or you may end up healed but it's not like a broken arm. Brain injuries take a long time to heal.

Lean on people here. If you have someone to help you have them read up on here too. It's hard to understand what it's like if you've never had a brain injury.

Peace and wellness,

Jace

Sorry if I seem agitated...your doctor lit my nerves!

Your agitation tells me your concerned and know how I feel. Thank you for taking the time to inform me and god bless you. I will be praying for you and everyone on this forum!

Thank you all.

I feel helpless, scared and like it's all against me. I just want to be diagnosed and get better! The WC lady did not like my request not sure what they are going to do.

But I spent awhile on the phone (killed my head, I'm so nauseated) but I now have a lawyer (gotta sign and make a contract but we are good).

He was able to advise me and assured me that if WC didn't get me checked out that he would!

All I can think is why me? I try to be a good person!
You don't deserve what is happening to you. Many of us have been there. You are a good, honest person, about to deal with a bunch of people, who are neither. I wish you courage. Be brave and believe in yourself.

I'm not sure what I can do. I was advised in FL I don't have a choice on doctors and I only get 1 change request! I was told if I seek outside care of my own it would compromise the entire case.

At this point I'm to contact the lawyer about any changes or appts. He really seemed to care!

Not stress? Are you crazy! That's all I can do and it's killing me! I went to take a drink out of a glass coke cup, lost my perception and slammed the cup into my tooth! Is that normal? Normal to lose your depth perception?
Loss of depth perception is another TBI symptom. Are you having convergence issues, you know, seeing double?

Poor soul, I know, from experience, how stressed you feel. I wish, with all my heart, that patients didn't have to endure such inhumane treatment. All the wrong people run the world.

I am so happy you have an attorney... hopefully this will relieve some of the stress.. and yes, i know how hard it is not to stress... I am there...

Another thing that you may want to do is start making a list of things that you do that are out of your norm... Have your wife make her list as well... this will help the doctor as well as your attorney.

There are a lot of veterans on this board that are great!

I am a newbie still... and look to them for advice.. they are great.. .ask away!

I know that kevbo is going through WC as well... and he may be able to tell you what he has done....

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily.

Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well.

Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off)

Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture

Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath

I have had some blurring vision, and my depth perception being off. Not constant kinds hit or miss these symptoms started 2 days after the initial accident seems weird to me.

Sounds familiar, to me.

Hang in there.

** you will get through this, for your kids. My daughter was little when I was hurt and it was, for her, that I battled back and continue to battle every single day.

For them, you will discover that you are stronger than you think.

I know I will get through this but it's so difficult, I'm sick constantly! I tried washing some dishes for my wife while she's at work and I got sick!

Still awaiting my doctor change from W/C. Woke up this morning with a small amount of clear fluid in my right ear. Maybe because of the rupture?
