Hi everyone i am doing my best to heal & try to get back to normal. Ive had PCS for 6+ months and after i finished school i tried to watch some TV, the world cup but for some reason i noticed i had become REALLY light and sound sensitive. So i stopped watching tv and i went to my computer and it was not functioning right and i ran a diagnostic test & that was a huge mistake. This color band screen came and i went berserk. Later in the middle of the night i woke up dizzy, nauseous and shaking. It was either a panic attack or a seizure im not sure. Now 5 days later I have to wear sunglasses in the house. Hard for me to do anything on the computer but i had to sign up for classes and so i decided to also post this. My eyes have also been hurting for 5 days with a lot of pressure and pain. Today i was doing a bit better but then i had a big sneeze and i tried to keep my head steady but failed and my head moved back and forth pretty quick and now i have some dizziness but plenty of pressure to my entire head. Is this another concussion, mTBI and if so what movements or things cause them? (question 1)
I just do not know anymore what is ok and what isnt. Trying my best to get better but my family isnt quite on board. My father continually bothers me to work, believes im faking it. Neuro told me info and i tell him but he doesnt get it. If thats his way of poking fun, im not in the mood (told him that too). I got an occupational thpy appt. tomorrow, i have no idea what to expect and i got to stay calm because i must drive myself. My neuro wanted me to do physical thpy but i do not have the money. She also wanted me to take nortriptyline to help me sleep and for my anxiety but it did not help my sleep. Do the therapies work for anyone? (question 2) |

A strong sneeze can cause a momentary spike in intracranial pressure. That can cause symptoms to return.
If you can, get your father to watch the YouTube video series, "You Look Great" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Xso...ature=youtu.be It may help him understand what is happening with you. My best to you.

I just had a weird episode of shaking myself. It happened tonight.
I am thinking mine was related to anxiety, although I didn't feel excessively anxious when it happened. I have the eye pressure/pain too, and it gets worse after watching TV or using the computer. I wear sunglasses 24/7 and that does help. I also close my eyes often, like when commercials come on or a website is loading. That helps me a bit. An optometrist tried to blame my eye pain on sinus problems. Yeah right. The drops he gave me have made my eyes worse. My PCP believes I have some type of neuralgia, but he doesn't know what type or how to treat it. I have an appointment with an ENT later this month. Supposedly he is familiar with neuralgia triggered by concussions. Perhaps neuralgia is responsible for your eye pain/pressure? Or neck problems? I immediately thought of your neck when you said your head moved back and forth. Have you tried closing one eye when you use the computer? That helps me. I'm not entirely sure why I do it, but it makes it easier for me to see what I'm typing and reading. I'm not a doctor, obviously. I'm just trying to throw out some ideas to help. You sound very anxious in your post. Very stressed. I hope your dad stops bugging you soon.

You sound stressed which is going to exacerbate your symptoms. I think some form of therapy, perhaps CBT will help. l try to walk in a park to recharge my batteries, the time away from technology helps calm. Watching the footy is hard work on the brain and probably stimulates it too much. Things will get better.
