Hey so I'm a few months post concussion and I'm on a family vacation to my lake house. I've been feeling great recently, all of my cognitive ability had seemed to have returned, and my sense of humor and personality had come back. So a day or two ago I was trying on a pair of goggles that were too tight and I ended up snapping them, shooting my head back a bit.
I put them back together and pulled them apart again, and it was pretty damn hard to do. So now I'm wondering if it could have been another concussion from the g force or whatever it is. I was fine the rest of the day but since then I just haven't felt right. I've been a bit depressed and more anxious than usual, as well as just really ****** off that I did something so stupid. Also feeling dizzy and lightheaded occasionally, but I was kind of feeling that before the incident due to the waves and being on a boat and whatnot. I haven't had any headaches at all, but then again I pretty much didn't have any at any point in my concussion. Do you guys think this could be another concussion? Or just another minor bump? I'm really worried about it I just don't feel like myself but it could be me just worrying about it too much. I'm desperate for it not to be another concussion and do you think this could cause permanent damage? Thank you any input is appreciated, btw I'm 17 |

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

I think you are worrying about it too much. I doubt is was even close to a concussion. More likely, the activity level has been a bit too much. The boat movement and other physical activity could be just enough to make you feel rotten. Take it easy and get good rest.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys, and I think you're right in that I over
reacted and today I started feeling a bit better once I stopped focusing on it. However I still have this weird symptom, when night time comes around and I'm all alone I just start getting really depressed and anxious, something similar to depersonalization (which I've had bouts over the past few years). Also, they weren't just regular small goggles, they were the full face ones that cover your nose, so it would have taken a good deal of force to snap them, I don't know I don't want to overestimate or underestimate, but that what's I recall. Thanks again guys |

You are thinking too much. Try to find something simple to keep your mind busy with. Playing solitaire with a deck of cards is a good time killer. It is just enough stimulation without too much activity.
