Is it possible for symptoms to be delayed up to 6 weeks (or more) following the initial injury? I remember feeling fine after the accident but after 6 weeks i feel like things really started to kick in...
I remember thinking "oh, this concussion thing isnt so bad"...but i was wrong |

It is not uncommon for concussion symptoms to be delayed, especially if the concussed person lives a high stress lifestyle or tends to like to party. The brain finally reaches a point of exhaustion and the symptoms can start to build.

Yes, absolutely. It took me about three weeks after my concussion to fall into the pits of PCS. In fact, I remember thinking how crazy it was that everyone made such a big deal over my fall when I didn't even wake up with a headache the next day. Boy was I wrong! Ha.

Yes, I'm in the same boat here. My symptoms started around a month after the initial blow to my head. After the MRI etc my doctor had said that it was possible that I had a mind concussion but that I seemed ok(!). I wish I had known to rest! I continued with everything, work, partying, travelling and then BAM! full-on symptoms a month later. I'm now looking after myself (have had 2 weeks off sick leave, now working again which is exhausting) but worried about how long it will last.
I wish you the best in your recovery! ![]() |

Yes, it's very possible. I left the hospital with a headache, felt fine for a few days... actually went to work! Then BAM.... it hit me and just got worse.
