I woke up as my toddler smashed a 5-pound toy into my forehead and the top of my head this morning.
I'm about 7 months into my recovery and have been generally feeling like myself again, except for some painful neuralgia, attitude/mood issues, and severe eye pain. Headaches disappeared months ago, and my cognitive function is better. Anyway, within 10 minutes of being hit with this toy today, I had a throbbing headache, dizziness, and nausea. I'm freaking out because I leave for my first vacation in 17 years tomorrow and also just accepted a huge pay increase from one of my clients. I'm extremely depressed right now and terrified that I have another concussion.

Chances are, your toddler couldn't smash the toy into your head with enough force to cause a concussion.
Also, as it sounds like your head was resting against a pillow, there would be no whiplash effect, so your brain wouldn't have moved and smashed against your skull. Penetrating injuries aside, so much TBI damage occurs from brain/skull contact, as opposed to purely skull/object impact. Monitor yourself and try to take it easy. |

I used an ice pack on my head and neck for about 20 mins. Also took some extra Vitamin C and curcumin because it made me feel proactive lol. I think I just flipped out because I finally feel like I'm getting parts of my life back (my career, for example) and I don't want to lose it all again.

I know, my youngest child had bonked heads with me numerous times. I cried numerous times.
We feel so vulnerable. It hurt like ****. Ice, rest, the usual suspects. I think we feel so close to the precipice. Deep breaths- talk yourself down. But yes, their skulls are HARD!
