After the car accident, I've been having very odd hunger signals. Instead of the usual feeling hungry, I would have low blood sugar level symptoms(feeling really hot sweating, dry throat, being woken from my sleep, feeling like I am gonna die...), even though my sugar level was fine. I would also feel like my inside is shaking(or having a seizure). I had these symptoms every 1-2 hours through out the day AND night. It's gotten a lot better, but I had a setback. Could be the anxiety-filled days this past week. wondering if anyone has had similar issues.

i had severe food comas for the first couple months--like HAD to lay down and close my eyes the minute food hit my stomach. and also showed severe low blood sugar signs before i got hungry so just tried to remember to eat a little bit every couple hours.
my appetite has been crappy the whole time, worse since my breakup. i've lost 10 pounds i didn't need to lose. i guess that's better than packing on the weight but one needs to eat... |

PS. while my appetite hasn't improved the other food related symptoms have. blood sugar doesn't seem so all over the place and food comas are light.

I've had the same low blood sugar-type symptoms as well come out of a blue several times these past few months (I'm about 1.5 years into my PCS ordeal).
Freaked me out since I thought this might be diabetes... I even thought of getting a blood sugar monitor and seeing what's going on. It only seems to happen randomly so far. As a side note, I've been having terrible stomach problems since last year, so it might be related to that as well.

Went snowmobiling once (didn't hit my head) and concussion symptoms returned and got even worse than before. June 2013 - accidentally bumped my head against a deck railing, and had a month-long setback. November 2013 - drove to work after a big snowstorm and the roads were very rough, ended up having another setback. 2014 - Having setbacks after coughing/sneezing too much, or someone slapping me on the back, or any other significant jarring. Feb 2014 - Started seeing Atlas Orthogonal chiro - most helpful doc so far. June 2014 - Two months of physical/visual therapy - no noticeable improvement. September 2014 - Diagnosed with Perilymph Fistula in right ear. November 2014 - Fistula surgery (switched to left ear before the surgery after additional testing). January 2016 - Quit work to "work" on figuring out PCS, so far it seems that eyes/vision issues are the most contributing factor, especially computer work. Current symptoms are: inconsistent sleep patterns, headaches, vertigo/dizziness, anxiety/panic attacks, mental fog/problems with concentration, problems with computer screens. |

Yes, I thought I was becoming diabetic as well and got my blood sugar level tested multiple times. It was always normal.
I also have other stomach issues. In the beginning, I could not have flour/greasy food/heavy food. I could only have certain food(steamed veggies mostly). I was so sick of steamed veggies after months of repetition. |

Im ok with it now, just weird that it happened. Although the first two months I was on some heavy duty painkillers so that could also of been it. |

Anxiety is murder on the digestive system. The stomach has more nerve endings that just about any where in the body. Anxiety makes them scream with aberrant signals.
Any foods that might cause minor gastric distress will cause far more due to anxiety.
