MRI of head fine...there's a shock. But doctor was really good. he said the injuries I had wouldn't show up on mri. I couldn't believe it. good doctor.
vestibular test showed central nervous system damage indicative of cerebellum and brain stem injury. They suggested vestibular therapy but I don't get the one sided dizziness, more like a head rush dizziness. Should I do the therapy.? The EMG, that test where they poke you with needles showed nerve damage going to both arms and legs. they want me to take mris of spine but I hate mris, Any advice on the necessity of that test? they gave me flexeril for the spasms and nerve pain. That means I would be taking ambien, Xanax, flexeril, Neurontin, Cymbalta, is that too much? thanks guys |

[nerve damage going to both arms and legs. they want me to take mris of spine]
It might be something treatable, it might be good to find out if something is going on in the spine..

I have done some balance therapy... did nothing for me... what test showed the damage?
I HATE MRI's but I would do it if it meant that the results would lead to a treatment plan that would get me back to normal. Flexeril for neve pain... no.. it is a muscle relaxer.. I think you are on a lot of duplicate meds... but that is my opinion

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

Go to the drug checker at drugs.com
Type in Flexeril and Cymbalta and read The interaction potential. Your pharmacist Can also print out something for you too. The basic obvious problem otherwise Is increased sedation mixing all that on your List. The other interaction you can read at Drugs.com

many of the interaction checker sites allow you to add vitamins and supplements to check everything- here are a few of them-

Mark, at this stage of the game, I would accept any treatment that has the hope of helping even in the slightest bit. Why suffer and do nothing about it, when they are giving you a possible chance of helping.
I know its overwhelming, and feels like a waste at times especially when we do not see results extremely quick, but Id say its worth a shot. |
