I am near 6 months into PCS. I was on xanax 0.25 for about a month and tapering off of it since about 10 days. I have been feeling really worse lately. I can't really describe the feeling in words but I feel there is something not right. I sleep for about 10-12 hours in a day. I feel really nauseated and heaviness in my head during my waking hours, foggy and out of it even on little exertion. The top of my head feels sore and there is constant pressure like feeling from inside the skull, hard to explain, along with nausea and terrible ringing in my ears which seems to have increased after I have lowered xanax. I have become aggressive and suicidal, feeling tired all day even after getting a proper sleep at night. To be honest, I am scared and don't have any idea what's happening with me and where I am heading towards.I can't imagine tapering off a dose of 0.25 could be so bad, if that's the case. Please help, I cry even while typing this

I am so sorry!!
Have you talked to your doctor about the issues titrating down? I wonder if the headaches are rebound form the xanax... i would call the doc and see what their recommendations are... this can not be good for wellbeing or your head...

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

Hi Galaxy Know that what you are going through is very normal. The reason I checked this group today is I woke with major headache and nauseated - and I am 1.5 years into my recovery. If you are feeling aggressive and suicidal you need to tell someone - or call your doctor right away. I am sorry you are feeling this way - the road to recovery is very slow and very up and down. Hang in there. If you are on-line and want to chat - let me know. GB |
