Because I had three blackouts last year I have been told I can no longer drive.
Thankfully the last one was November last year, so I am only off the road for 6 weeks, Still cannot believe this, the Consultant is suggesting epilepsy post head trauma. I hope you are all improving!

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

Sorry to hear that.
Ive been advised by doctors not to drive. They understand that I do need to drive under certain circumstances so they have not asked for my license to be pulled. I am very vigilant about it though. I will rarely drive, and if I do, its no more then 10-15 minutes tops. I refuse to drive at night, or with my daughter in the car. I also only try to travel when I know traffic will be light, and usually take side roads where the speed limit is much lower. Rather play it safe and not risk hurting someone else. |

From the information the Consultant sent me he seems to think I had seizures post head injury. Last one was November 2013 so not long to go until I can drive.

After doing a bit of research I have discovered that Cymbalta at 60mg or above can potentially cause your blood pressure to drop. Particularly when gettting up from sitting up/lying down to standing.
It seems too much of a coincidence to me that my three collapses occurred when I was on 60mg of Cymbalta and happened in the morning when I woke up and rose from bed. Epilepsy no, Cymbalta yes was the cause of my collapses. Hopefully I can get back driving soon!
