Default PCS since 2012!

I am so happy to find this kind of support! I had a bad fall while helping my Mom, and whiplashed bad. My spinal cord is compromised at the base of my brain, and the dr,s dn't check me for concussion at the er, I took all the drugs they gave me for the excruciating pain, which is not good for concussion. My world turned upside down....I had to quit my job, which was pca work, Mom was my client. She had cancer. I filed work comp in hopes of getting help with medical costs...they denied me, and now I have an attorney. I Don't even remember going in to sign papers with the attorney, and work comp still has not helped me. I don't get it. I had amnesia after this fall, and was too embarrassed to tell anybody. I isolated in my room with no lights or tv. I spent most days and nights in the bathtub with a neck brace on. This was the best pain relief I could find. I have been taking lots of magnesium and b complex vitamins to try and ward off nerve damage, but my cns is really messed up. I have multiple pcs symptoms, and life has been really hard. Thank you for this place to vent, understand, learn and share. xo

Believe me, you are understood here. This board has kept me going more than once, but I still pray for the day a might not need it too much. My name Is Mark and although there are others who are more knowledgeable when it comes to pcs, I am a good listener in a time of need

Sorry about your troubles Dawneve. Have you been checked by a chiro ? Others and specially MarkInIdaho will be able to help you suggest an appropriate specialist. Maybe some neck adjustments will give you some relief ? More than 2 years is a long time for PCS and you are brave to have faced this period. Things will only get better after this long, even if its a bit of improvement.

Thank you, Will, I see you have tinitus too....is yours one sound, or several? I have several frequencies running through my head at different levels, fluctuating. It gets worse with the pressure in my head. A therapist once reached in my mouth and adjusted my jaw, and it stopped for a few hours....I cried my eyes out from the relief. Crying is not good for the pressure. dang, lol.

Thanks for this, Galaxy! I hope you are right about the improvement, some people have been saying the longer you have it, the less chance for recovery. I am in total denial of that concept. The fact that the symptoms switch around tells me they can go away! I have been to 3 chiros, their adjustments did not help at all. However, I just found out about one who does alternative therapies for head and neck injuries. It is a long drive, and expensive. I plan on going as soon as possible. Riding in a vehicle is problematic, but I bought an inflatable neck collar which helps.

Default Blues in my Jazz...

I committed to acting in a play over a year ago, knowing I would be better by now...oh oh. We show starting Wednesday, and guess who has major road blocks remembering her lines? Somehow I must stumble through this production. I am hoping this will be good brain entrainment...my cognitive skills have hit the dirt. While I was watching at rehearsal last night, the sounds in my head and buzzing of my nerves was so distracting me, I missed a lot. I got up and started acting in the wrong act!! Everybody started laughing, but I was crying on the inside. I wish for you all a wonderful day of healing. Practice deeper breathing, we need much oxygen to our brains. xoxo
