Default Vision problems contacts vs glasses

I have always worn contact lenses, since my concussion, it makes me seeing much more difficult with them in, I get more blurry vision...and headaches.

My glasses don't make things better either. They are bifocals.

My contacts: one eye is for near only and the other eye is for seeing distance.

Anyone else have this issue? Or know why this is

Do you have muscle spasms or trigger points in your neck, upperback or shoulder muscles?
Those can affect vision temporarily until the spasm/trigger points are calmed down.

I had a very hard time getting my progressives to work for me during my RSI/TOS injury that involved spasms & trigger points.

[In addition, these muscles can be a cause of blurred vision and pain behind the eyes. ]

or a PDF option with more info-

(a specific tool is not required - any object like finger/thumb, small firm ball - against the wall or floor..will work)

Hi there... been wondering how you were doing.

I didn't have the blurry vision with my contacts. I was wearing contacts up until the time of my concussion. Same as you with one eye long distance and one eye short distance.

I decided to buy glasses again at one of my eye check ups as recommended and ended up wearing them all the time as I was concerned my brain wasn't dealing well with the set up of the contact lenses.

My new glasses, again as recommended, were progressive lenses. I wore progressive lenses for years then because it was easier to just have one set to carry around. Silly reason as it turned out.

What a problem these progressive lenses were to me. I was falling into walls and banging myself on furniture and falling over. It made my balance issues way way worse. I already had really bad vertigo.

Tilting my head was the main problem. Moving the neck and head up and down to adjust to distance.

My optometrist tried to talk me out of it for some unknown reason, but now I have 2 pair of glasses. One for short distance and one for long distance. It's made the world of difference to my balance issues.

I've always wanted to get back to my contacts but am afraid to do that again.

When was your last check up?

Maybe one of your eyes has changed a lot and it's causing the problems. It's a very strange thing when you first get those types of contacts. It took my brain about 2 weeks or so to get used to them so I can imagine if the prescription of one or the other needs a change then it would affect the way you're feeling.

Maybe your eyes are really dry too. You could try using more moisture drops on those contacts throughout the day to see if that helps.

So glad to read these responses.

Originally, my contacts were for far distance. I had "readers" for seeing near. After car accident, I really thought my vision problems were a change of my eyes. I went and had them checked, the doctor changed my lenses to one near, one far.... told me it would take awhile for my brain to realize the difference.

I could see out of them, however, I was more apt to vertigo and episodes of blurry vision. So, I attempted glasses. Well, I if I am looking directly through the lens... I can see fine, but let my vision catch the bifocal lens...and I am on the dizzy train.

I do wear my glasses for driving, but that is it.

I do in fact have severe issues with the left trapezius muscle. It is in a constant state of entrapment. I take muscle relaxers...but most days the spasms are bigger than the relaxer.

Pain management suggested I seek medical massage for this, to attempt to get the muscle to release. He said this would be a life long endeavor

Try to find a Physical Therapist who does myofacial release. It may make all the difference. Not an instant heal but over time can make a big difference.

Are you going to tell us about your NeuroPsych report so we can try to help you understand it ? You can PM me if you prefer. Left click on my screen name then click on Send Private Message.
