Default 10 months in...

When I first head butted the door I knew I'd hit it sickenly hard but I didn't realise for a minute I'd be suffering the repercussions ten months later. Anyway, it's now ten months and after two months of hell where I thought I was going insane or going to die and four months of purgatory things finally settled down to bearable by seven months.

However, things picked up a great deal by around month nine, I can now last until bed time whereas before I was wiped out with fatigue by the afternoon. Around this time I got some strange feelings in my head like my brain was loose followed by a concussed feeling like I'd been hit on the head - weird, only nine months late! The soreness and stinging in my eyes which arrived about six months in and peaked around month eight has all but gone. All this improvement coincided with starting my turmeric regime although of coursse I can't attribute it solely to that. One thing I've noticed is that I began to feel happier which leads me to think I've been slightly depressed for months without knowing it.

So, what's left? My old friends tinnitus and insomnia are still hanging around but they are improving. I hardly notice the tinnitus in the day and when I wake in the morning it takes me a while to realise I have it, so it's definitely faded to what it was. Sleep is still a problem although I don't wake after an hour and my sleep has improved from three/four hours to five hours or more. I still get sleepless nights but thankfully they don't knock me out as much the next day. I'm at a loss to know why PCS has hit me so hard in the sleep department, I believe it's slowed my progress.

In summary things are still getting better and I feel there's light at the end of the tunnel, it's just taking time and it's not linear, but now most of the time I feel perfectly normal like the old me. One thing I must learn to do is pace myself more and rest more, I think doing this I can improve quicker.

So to anyone feeling like they're never going to improve there is hope and no time-scale to healing!
