Has anyone heard of PoNS? PoNS is a device that stimulates the tongue with an electrical impulse. I believe the idea is that it stimulates the cranial nerves and parts of the brain. Apparently it is undergoing trials. I don't intend to give anyone false hope, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out (especially in regards to balance issues).
It could be promising technology for some. However, we should all be skeptical of sensationalistic media coverage. See news articles below: https://www.google.ca/search?q=PoNS+...device&tbm=nws See company research page below: http://www.heliusmedical.com/our-research

There's a small video on the University of Wisconsin site.
I found an updated/different one from the 2nd link you posted. https://tcnl.bme.wisc.edu/taxonomy/term/53 |

I gather that this technology is geared towards brainstem and possibly peripheral nerve issues.

I've seen articles recently that state this will be FDA approved any day. Oddly enough Montel Williams is using this and helping promote it for use with his MS condition.
