Yes, I've had a constant headache for 2 months. It's pretty much all over my head and my neck starts to hurt with over exertion /stimulus. It's more like a pressure, if I press with fingertips it hurts. Mine came back 6 weeks POst concussion when I tried to go back to work.
I Wish I could have stayed on Amitriptyline/ Nortriptyline but it made my heart race and chest pain. Waiting to see Neuro for something else. Hope you find relief soon. |

I developed new head ache and neck issues when I started wearing trifocal lenses in my glasses. I needed to tip my head up/back to use the bottom lens. This aggravated my neck. It helped to lower my computer monitor to the lowest position but did not solve it completely. I think the frequent need to tip my head back just aggravated things.

Headache is probably the most annoying symptom I have. I have had a constant headache for 6 months now. I'm taking Tramadol daily to keep them at a tolerable level. Sometimes though even that doesn't help and I just have to ride it out. I'm also worried about developing dependency on it; my doctor says it's not habit forming but I've never been a fan of drugs in general.

Depakote has helped a lot with my headaches. I take 500 mg/day, with an option of increasing to 1000 mg on bad days. I tried going up to 1000 mg/day, but it gave me incapacitating fatigue (a pre-existing problem that was exacerbated). I've been on it for about 2 years and it still seems to be helping.
I should note that I've also tried vision therapy, vestibular rebab (via a PT), cranio-sacral therapy (from two different practitioners), regular massage, two different chiropractors (one NUCCA), and Gabapentin. Depakote has helped my headaches more than did any of these other forms of therapy. Icing helps too, though sometimes my headaches are tension-based (eyes and temples), in which case it helps more to apply heat. Sometimes I alternate between heating and icing. A good trick for heating and icing is to take a few tube socks and fill them with plain rice. If you heat up a rice-filled sock in the microwave, it will retain its heat for quite awhile, and it's easy to distribute it evenly across the area you want to heat. I find that the weight also feels good. You can reheat a sock again and again without destroying the rice or the fabric. I also keep two of these in the freezer for icing, but the freezer has to be set to a very cold temp to get the rice cold enough.

I couldnt read the whole thread, but... I had constant headaches until I was treated for the depression I was up against and the lingering all day headaches abated when treated. It likely isnt the cause of everyones but it helped me and I was so sure that my mood had nothing to do with it, now I just get the regular headaches which is still not great but beats the 24/7 daily drudging ones.
