Default Antihistamines and brain injuries

My mom is trying to push me to take antihistamines, more specifically cetirizine. She says that a friend's son who experienced a severe concussion takes them and they help control some of his symptoms.

I thought a decongestant like pseudoephedrine would be more likely to help.

FYI, I do notice a connection between sinus congestion and periods of poor symptoms.

Does anyone think there is any truth to this?

Grape seed extract and pycnogenol lower histimines. I'm headed to 20 yrs on these OPC's...do a search of these for your issues.

After on Pycnogenol for a week or so back in 1995, I threw all otc drugs away. I dealt with allergies/sinus issues all my life prior. I was 57 when I "FOUND" these sort of miracles in my life.

If one is on a pharma blood thinner then can't take OPC's and drug ... one or the other.

You could ask your MD about grape seed ex, but they probably couldn't give an answer...pharmacist may know more. I'm not recommending, just my story. I did not have a brain inury.

Mark, I have a post on the vitamins/supplements group. I'm the only one adding to my thread, but that's ok. I found some older posts on OPC (grape seed ex) from members of NT and commented on their old posts.
