Hello,
I have a theory about my PCS but can't prove. I took anti depressents 4 years before my PCS. I believe those pills made it easier for me to get a concussion. I took those pills for like 3 months. It never did a thing for my depression it only made me gain 35 lbs and grow man boobs. Please let me know if there is any research that touches on something like this. |

What anti-depressant did you take ?
Three months is a short time for many AD meds. Most don't start to work until about 6 weeks. Dr Peter Breggin has a lot to say about AD meds. |

Hi bobbyr,
I'm wondering what you mean about the medication making it easier for you to get a concussion 4 years later? Did the medication leave long lasting side effects do you feel? Just trying to understand what you mean. |

The medication did not leave any long lasting side effects. I just feel it did something to my brain that made me susceptible to concussions. Its nothing i can prove and I may be wrong about this. I was just always wondered about this since my PCS.

I'm of the opinion that AD meds need to be prescribed by knowledgeable psychiatrists who can help the patient find the med that works for them. Different people often have different responses to the same med.
I seriously doubt 3 months of Zoloft made you more susceptible to a concussion. There are likely many other factors that could play a bigger part. |
