Default Tingling Sensation - good?

As I noted in my post titled "Made much worse by alcohol," my concussion got much much worse after drinking twice over a 4 month stretch, not resting, and now I have seen no improvement in 2 months. Starting yesterday I am beginning to feel a tingling sensation or sparks like feeling in my head.

Any idea what this might be? Is this something positive?

It's the first sign of life around that clogged thinking that has been troubling me so much. Though it hasn't helped the actual thinking blockage whatsoever I'm hoping it means the brain may actually be working to fix this issue. What are these sparks and tingling sensations in my head?

I don't know really. It's difficult to understand what this sensation could be.

You're not on any medication are you?

The way you describe it sounds a little like "brain zaps" that people can experience coming off some medications. Paxil is notorious.

Thanks Lara! I'm not on any medications, just taking quite a few supplements. The tingling or the zap is felt every time I try to access the thinking that I feel is blocked off. My only symptom is a complete lack of emotional awareness and detachment from emotional awareness. So, any time I am trying to speak to someone or look someone in the eye, these sparks are flying off in the head.

Anxiety can cause "brain zaps". Your last description would suggest that may be a possible cause, what do you think??

I have also read anecdotal reports of individuals who had certain vitamin deficiencies having brain zaps but I have no information about that to suggest reading I'm sorry.

Thanks again Lara. I don't think I am feeling particularly anxious, or anxious at all really. I've been staying in and resting for almost two months now. The zaps are like a shooting tingling feeling that rise and subside as I'm sitting by myself trying to think about anything.

I read something about nerve endings being the source of this tingling. For now, just going to ignore this feeling while things hopefully clear up. Thanks for your response though, I appreciate it!

How did you sustain your TBI? Tingling can be a sign of neurological damage. I experience a lot of tingling sensations, in my hands, feet, ears, etc..., due to severe whiplash sustained in my mva.

As those injuries heal, and the nerves come back online, patients can experience an uptake in tingling, pulses, spasms and pain that feels like being tazered.

Many TBIs are sustained during accidents that cause a myriad of injuries. That can make it difficult to discern the source of symptoms. Neck injuries can be especially tricky.

Thanks Hockey!

I suffered whiplash square in my right temple by turning my head too hard into a pointed towel rack. Then I made it 1000X worse by binge drinking twice and picking up another light knock in the same spot. All this happened within a 4 month span. Been resting from work since September 13th, with only one discernable improvement in condition occurring on October 1st. The tiniest amount of exertion (talking) that day caused an immediate relapse. So now I am living in the suburbs with my mom, just trying to rest, hoping some bit of clarity returns at some point.

hermanator90, surprisingly I am also noticing this type of tingling in my head specially on my right side, I suspect it started with my Vision therapy. I am not sure if it is good or bad either
