I'm about 18 months post concussion syndrome and I'm feeling better, surely better since the first 6 months.
I still don't have the energy I used to have, however alot of that is due to lack of sleep. The main issue, or outstanding issue I still face is Tinnitus. It can be REALLY annoying in my right ear. At this point I don't expect the Tinnitus to resolve. I can only hope it gets better. All else today i'm able to have dinner with friends, go out to a social event, and have a good workout at the gym. I will update if the Tinnitus should go away, however i'm not sure it will. Experienced: Severe fall, PCS 18 months, early symptoms disorientation, extreme brain fog, loud tinnitus, exhaustion, severe insomnia, severe sound sensitivity. My Diagnosis: Inner ear concussion. |

Hi Martin, I echo the tinnitus torture-- am just about 1 yr post-injury and can finally tolerate some music in the car. Maybe try something soothing at home just to build up your tolerance? It seems so contradictory! Take care, Grace |

Hey can you talk a bit more about your brain fog?
What did it feel like, what helped, when it went away? That's only symptom I have 5 months out is a pretty constant annoying foggy feeling. |

I also have constant fogginess, along with some struggles with my equilibrium and light sensitivity. Everything seems to be getting better, though. Hang in there, I think that this is something that eventually passes as well. Time seems to be the great healer in the journey. That and I do have to say my faith in God has really helped me. You will get better.

Brain fog is a pretty typical symptom experience by concussed individuals. For me, it took most of the first year of recovery for this to diminish. In the end, time turned out to be the key component for it passing. However, I still feel I have some cognitive slowness and memory issues, particularly following over-stimulation.
