Default new concussion

I have not written anything in a while because I was feeling a lot better. Since beginning of June ny symptoms starter to get better day by day. I was so happy.

Then yesterday on my way to work I misshiftet into the wrong gear in my car while I was speeding up. My car almost stopped and my head snapped back pretty hard. I didn't think much of it.

Had a lot of stress and running around at work. picked up my son at school in the afternoon and while driving there (about 25 km from my work) I started getting nauseous. My head felt weird, got brain fog and I went straight to bed when I got home.

At night I had to throw up a few times, my head hurts bad. My neck does not hurt.

Now, 17 month after PCS started I am back to the beginning. I can't stand to even think about it.

Default Aggravated old neck injury?

Hi Anja,

I am sorry to hear of your struggles.

I am no expert (your doctor knows best), but I am not sure that the accident had enough force to cause a concussion. Maybe something neck related (it sounds like a mild whiplash motion), and I hope that Mark will tune in, but I am still not sure that the force is strong enough to give you a new injury. Did you hit the head rest in your car hard? Did it hurt?

Maybe it is a combination of anxiety and a aggravated old neck injury?

As I said I am no expert, but I know how you feel - minor things gives me problems for days (sometime weeks) and I panic a lot because I fear losing my life. If I make a hard break with my car, drive over a hard bump etc. I will get problems. And what you experience now because of the gear shift would also apply for me - I am trying to say, that you are not alone in your struggle, and that you will get over this.

Please update how it evolves.

Hello Anja,

Yesterday i experienced the same as you did. Did you experience a Classic whiplash motion (your head back- and downwards) or was it more like when you accelerate hard and your head is pushed back? And how long did it take you to overcome?

I an so depressed because this has happened - but I cant see how I could avoid it - I mean things like this just happens

And how are you doping?
