I had the one where you stay up all night, they attach wires to your head, flash lights, ask questions, and have you rest for 20 minutes.

Kanna,

That was an EEG with sleep deprivation so they can get a sleep cycle. The rest was designed to see you brain as it falls asleep and sleeps. I had one but did not fall asleep. There was a workman in the next room pounding on something. I was so annoyed after making all the effort to stay awake all night.

Did the results indicate anything ?

I haven't gotten the results yet. I get them on Friday. I didn't fall asleep either because the technician was in the room. He said it wasn't important for me to fall asleep but resting was a must. The flashing lights were not nearly as annoying as I originally thought that they would be. My head still felt a headache coming on but it stopped before that happened. I was so spaced out that I really had problems concentrating on anything...my mind kept wandering and my body kept on itching....so frustrating.

My neuro said it was different from ADD in how the brain processes thought.

Your description sure sounds like what I experience.

Was the sleep deprivation test an EEG with a sleep cycle that you had to stay awake all the night before ? Or is it in a sleep lab for a sleeping disorder ?
Yes, that describes me, to a tee, after my TBI. If a fly buzzed by, for instance, I'd, unknowingly, insert "fly" into my sentence. Attention Processing Training (APT) really helped me regain some capacity to focus.

Default Update

The results of the EEG were normal. My neurologist still wants me to get the MRI. She decided to put me on the epilepsy medication as another test to see if it is epilepsy. We are getting together next Friday to see if we can see what damage happened, if any, from my 2 major concussions. She also gave me a prescription for the headaches that were waking me up this past week.

We are making progress.
