I've only had a little bit of blood work done. The functional neurologist I saw wanted lots of testing done to see if there were problems, and I never did it because I thought it was just more money to be lost.
I recently read (I think on here) that if the thyroid isn't functioning well that it can cause lots of problems, including body temperature regulation problems. Ever since I came down off a curb (didn't fall) biking two summers ago, I get overheated very easily. This is not due to anxiety I should add. My dad had thyroid problems and actually had his thyroid removed. I'm wondering what tests I should ask my Dr. to request. I've never had my vitamin levels checked, and I've only had a few hormones checked. After reading through EsthersDoll's thread, I think it would be a good idea to get some of these things checked out. Even if nothing bad would show up, it would rule something out. |

There is a saying in research and scientific observation.
Coincidence does not mean causation. Thyroid tests are common. A B-12, folate, magnesium, and D-3 test would be worthwhile. But, a metabolic change would be more likely be related to a neck strain. Nerves from the neck control the thyroid. But, a one time event like a bike off a curb would be hard to justify as a cause of a prolonged neck issue.
