Hi there well basically I have had several times where I took blows to the head both with fists and once a wooden baseball bat. From the first time I got hit I continued to get into fights one way or another. Now, I am struggling with feelings of unreality and just a general depression or anxiety issue.

It started when I was about 18, now I am 24. But it's funny I just am realizing this may be what is ailing myself so much. I hope to meet some more nice people here and continue learning. I bought the supplement Grape Seed Extract tonight after reading about it so I am hoping it helps.

You should read the Vitamins sticky at the top. Grape Seed Extract does not have any benefits specific to concussions. The Vitamin regimen should be your first step. It is not a cure, it just helps with anxiety and helps nerve fibers heal plus some other benefits. It takes weeks and months to see an improvement.

Thanks guys. Actually, I am currently on vitamin b-12 liquid which my dad suggested to me. I was starting to dose off of it because I felt like it was giving me some bad side effects. I really don't know if I should stay on it or not. I know it is just a vitamin and all, but it sometimes made me feel uncomfortable. What do you suggest I do about taking b-12 if I feel this way when taking it?

B-12 is normal doses (up to 2500 to even 5000 mcgs per day) are well tolerated. I doubt you need more than 1000 mcgs. But, you need to balance all of your B's. A B-50 Complex would be good. (Not a B Complex) What is the B-12 dose you are taking ? Why liquid vs tablets or dissolvable lozenges ?

I suggest you get a fully balanced vitamin and supplement regimen going, maybe with a reduced dose of B-12.

Anyone have experience with superior canal dehiscence?
My ENT admitted he no experience with this and would not order at CT scan. Vestibular and auditory testing in his office noted my optical reflexes were abnormal. Everything else "normal" according to tests. They did not mention my sensitivity to loud sounds or my delayed reaction to testing(severe dizziness & nausea for 2 weeks) and fluctuating hyper/hypo tension.
I just want to rule out dehiscence and can't find doctor to order test as my vestibular therapist would like to have this ruled out, too. I can't tolerate Mack ear plugs as the vibration from the bone conduction when I talk with them in drives me crazy. My Down Beats earplugs are only slightly more tolerable, but I find myself popping them out when I want to join in a conversation (and attempt to be part of society again!).
Any thoughts?

The insurance company paid a lot of money for my treatments . The one thing that made the biggest differences is learning my triggers. They also helped me understand that my old life was not coming back.

My life got better when I started dealing with my issues and just powering through. Speech therapy taught me that I need to slow down and plan out what I wanted to say. Occupational therapy taught me to write down my tasks and plan out my day. I learn that I can't multitask and need order. I accepted that living with headaches 24 by 7 was not healthy.

I also took the tests that showed that I had permanent damage. This was very helpful with the insurance company and social security because everything was documented.
