Default PCS 2 year udpate

Dear Friends!

It's been 2 years now since I had a very bad fall that suffered a variety of injuries including a horrendous concussion.

Today 2 years later I have much more energy and I'm able to make the most of a day. However challenges still remain. My main obstacles that i have yet to overcome:

-Tinnitus in my right ear. It's better than it was initially however has still not gone away. Tinnitus is worse when i'm tired or if i've had something to drink the night before. (My hearing test is normal from 250 htz to 8k.)

-Dim Light disorientation. In dim light i feel a bit out of it. Almost like a floating sensation or like dreamy feel. It can be dim light in a restaurant, or dim light in a library. Worse is just dim light at night. Is this a vision or brain thing i don't know. any help?

-Insomnia. I still battle with poor sleep. Once i'm up i'm up. I remember pre injury getting much deeper sleep.

-Sex drive seems to have declined a bit. I miss the old me being extremely outgoing. I feel out of it alot however not sure if it's brain or just exhaustion.

What else? Memory is sharp, headaches are rare (fortunately) and cognitive skills are in place. I'm 2 years since accident so at this stage pretty sure whatever deficits remain are likely and sadly permanent.

I miss my old life very much however cannot change what has happened. I started my own company which fortunately has been doing better the last 12 months. However i would surely trade it all for the free spirit i so much enjoyed in my past.

Wishing all of you the very best and speedy recovery!

Things that helped: Cod Liver Oil, Sleep, Mulit-vitamins, berries, fresh squeezed juice, exercise, hot bikram yoga and being outdoor.

Be careful with the cod liver oil if you continue to take it. The higher quantity used for the the anti-inflammatory effects can cause an overdose of Vit A. Straight fish oil (not liver) oil with good omega 3/EPA/DHA is better.

It's a VERY strange journey. I'd like to improve my sleep. Which is challenging cause i wake up with a loud buzzing in my ears early in the morning that settles after being awake a bit.

I'm wondering if the ear problems could be a form of Meniere's triggered by the head trauma. Loose fluids/crystals in the inner ear.

Anyone on here also have issues in dim lit settings?

Martin,

You've never said how much Cod Liver oil you take. It has neurological and visual implications if too much is taken resulting in Vit A overdose.

Busy rooms in dim light but that is improving with my eye therapy.

Thank you for your comments Mark. I don't take more than a full table-spoon daily of Cod Liver Oil.
Does that seem like alot?
