Not a drug guy, but nuero gave me Topamax and Reglan.
Really want to try them, but Google is my worst enemy. People talk about Reglan like it's the devil. And I'm not too fond of the alopecia associated with Topamax. |

I am sorry to say, that I too think Reglan is the "devil".
It is very risky and has shown over decades that it damages dopamine systems in the brain and may lead to movement disorders or worse and many of these disorders are permanent! What is your doctor treating you for, to give you Reglan? Doctors who are in the know, no longer prescribe this drug.

Possible migraines/ headaches. But more importantly, nausea....but nausea of the head....NOT nausea of the stomach (I don't know if there is a difference). I never vomit, just feel sick in the nose/ear/mouth area...if that makes any sense.

Is the nose ear mouth nausea sort of a vertigo sensation ?
I've had something like it. It's like my face feels like it is spinning or in knots but I do not have any balance issues. I have always attributed it to a face headache, as I call them. I have never found a solution. Have you tried Dramamine ? If it can settle the nerves in the ear, maybe it can help settle these other nerves. Or, benadryl ?

I don't have any balance issues, more of a "motion-sickness-like" feeling. It's impossible to describe. Haven't try them, but I'll give them a shot. |

Some people get the movement disorders on first doses.
Others over time. It seems that some people are more sensitive to dopamine damage than others. Basically we all have different neurotransmitter systems and maintenance. So it is difficult to predict who will be the unlucky ones. You can Google this yourself. Use keywords like "metoclopramide damage" "movement disorders from metoclopramide" etc.

Yes, for me, it is more like pressure. Sometimes like somebody is squeezing my face or nose. Usually across the area where a pair of ski goggle would fit.
If I ignore it, it usually subsides a bit. If I pay attention, it gets worse. Sometimes, I feel like I need to shake my head to shake out of it. For me, shaking my head is not good. I also get what I call mud headaches. I feel like by forehead is packed tight with mud. My thinking may be slowed. No sharp or normal headache pain. Just pressure discomfort. Never found a cause. Relaxing and sometimes acetaminphen or ibuprophen or aspirin helps.

I found that Topamax (Topiramate) gave me a number of side effects, including tingling in the feet, as if my shoes were on too tight. Apparently this is one of the more common side effects. In the end I started feeling really unwell and exhausted and couldn't wait to come off it. However, you have to reduce the dosage very gradually as coming off told turkey can cause a seizure. Your doctor should advise you in this regard. Good luck. CS

Over the years all symptoms have become milder but have not disappeared. |
