i will say 90% concussion problems are caused by ligament damage in your c0 to c2 areas and upper neck muscle weakness..it does not take much force to cause those ligaments to tear or stretch. barre liou syndrome is common along long term pcs sufferers
i know this as i did stem cell injections in my neck and my concussion issues are gone. |

From what I read, stem cell therapy does not help neuro issues but is very beneficial with joint injuries, ligaments, tendons. The jury is still out on HBOT. Even Dr Harch's study is inconclusive. It appears to help some and not others.
My interest is in the strengthening of the C-1 to occiput and C-1 to C-2 ligaments. They can take months to strengthen by normal healing. Did the stem cell therapy target those ligaments?

when your c0 to c2 ligaments are damaged it causes your c1 to subluxate forward.causing pinching on your vertebral artery and on your autonomic nervous system that alone causes headache.nausea sensivity etc etc.basically most pcs symptoms.it can also cause poor csf flow |

Could you please explain what type of evidence (in addition to your own experience) makes you think that 90% of PCs symptoms are due to the neck?

Studies show that 80-85% of concussions include an upper neck injury component. roffa's comment that 90% of symptoms are caused by the neck injuries is not what the study reported.
From what I understand, it is not only a pinching issue. Misalignment and injury can cause inflammation that restricts blood flow and nerve function. I can be symptom free then sleep with poor posture and cause symptoms.

Mark,
I agree, and saying "85% of concussions have a neck component" is not the same as "85% of symptoms come from the neck". This is why I asked. By the way, should we perhaps think of a thread or folder that summarizes and discusses recent medical research on PCS? I have read a few studies that would perhaps be interesting for others, and I would be glad to learn more as well. |
