Karina,

A coup contra-coup injury still requires a serious acceleration or deceleration. An example I give is dropping a 16 lb bowling ball 12 inches onto your foot or even head.

As DavOD said, Consider neck injuries when these bumps happen. It only takes 4-5 Gs to suffer whiplash. It takes 60 to 90 Gs to suffer a concussion.
