So guys, just wanted to update you. The results from my sleep deprived EEG had spikes consistent with epilepsy. I was quite upset, as i knew i did not spawn epilepsy from being hit on the head. But apparently TBI can cause epilepsy. And epilepsy is not always convulsions. Apparently you can have tiny seizures that dont manifest themselves in convulsions, but in neurological symptoms like headaches and cognitive problems. Im having a 2nd EEG on tuesday, and am hoping for the epilepsy. As bizarre as it sounds. If its epilepsy, maybe they can treat it as such and maybe ill feel better.
Just wanted to pass it along. If you have PCS have an EEG, maybe you have epilepsy. |

Owen,
Hang in there partner. I had the EEG done years ago when they were running tests for MS. Turns out part of my brain was firing too fast. And had a mild form of epilepsy. As you pointed out, it's not always violent seizures, many times I would "zone out" or get lost in a conversation or list of numbers. My first neuro put me on meds and it cleared right up in just a few months. I'm sorry to hear your news and definitely sorry I can't remember the pill he put me on. ![]() ![]()

Thanks for the information on epilepsy as being a possible symptom of TBI/PCS it does make sense and something I had not thought about.
I've had friends who have had epilepsy and have watched them when they have one of their attacks no fun and very frighting to see someone go through one of these episodes. Thanks for sharing Owen that's a hard one to deal with. Sincerely Jeffn |

Hi Owen, my best wishes to you! You might want to read the section about seizures in www.tbiguide.com, the doctor explains how seizures can develop months after TBI in easy to understand terms. It also contains some good info on headaches that has helped me a lot.

Hi I thought I would let everyone know there are many forms of
seizures the most famous are the least common ones in many people. And they are also usually the easiest to treat. My youngest son has epilepsy, and its a disorder you learn to live with. Donna |
