I suffered a concussion in late July. I'd woken up the morning after with a low-grade headache and a feeling of my eyes not working together correctly. Over the next two weeks, this began to dissipate; by late August it was very infrequent, and by late September I hadn't noticed it happening at all.
Recently I had an infection for which I took Bactrim, and a subsequent unrelated cold. Dizziness can be one of the side effects of Bactrim, so I took the dizziness I was feeling to be something that would quickly pass once I stopped the medicine. However, I stopped the medicine last week and my dizziness is as bad as it was right after the concussion. No headache, though. I also feel very mentally foggy/stoned, though I'm recovering from a cold or sinus infection and that could be a large part of it. Has anyone experienced the return of symptoms when taking either Bactrim or having a cold/sinus issues? Are they here to stay now or should this go away again as my body recovers? I also take Skelaxin for an unrelated issue, but generally have no side effects from that. I work as a programmer, and it's hard to both read code and maintain mental concentration at the moment. Very frustrating. |

Now that my body's 95% well, my brain feels 95% better... I can still notice some of the fogginess and vision troubles, but they're NOTHING like they were when I was sick. And they're less than I'd expect, given my lack of sleep last night.
Strange that just a slight cold -- no fever even -- would bring on such an extreme relapse. |

Any cold/ flu/creeping crud sends my TBI syptoms all over the map, too. Been that way for years, so now I'm somewhat mentally prepared for most anything when I get even a mild cold.

I too just came to mexico for a nice relaxing vacation feeling pretty good as I am nearing my 2 year mark of PCS. 2 Days ago Istarted to get a head cold and wouldnt you know it I woke up yesterday and started to feel the PCS symptoms coming on that much stronger. It makes me feel really good just to come on here and read up on this
Again im going to recommend seeing a chiropractor who has delt with PCS (has a laser machine pref) and an acupuncturist. Those have helped me greatly. My Tinitus actually was gone for 2 days after 9 months! but then I had a guys night out and it came back lol oh well ive learned my lesson on that |
