Mikey, can you please elaborate a little more on your vision issues. I have vision issues that I have been trying to describe for 7 years, but I don't know how to explain it. It feels like things move in slow motion, I think, and I just feel out of it, like my head is filled with water. My sense of time is also messed up.

Hi baseball
sorry for the late reply

My vision issues from what I can remember, started off by basically almost a blurred like state.. as if I was dreaming...

I too recal thinking everything moved in slow motion or things were moving too fast for me to be able to focus on them (ie a cars wheel while driving)

I also remember losing my "internal clock" for about 2 weeks.. this was hell.. I couldnt tell u approx what time it was if my life depended on it

Again for me, I felt the neuroscience products were my biggest help... after of course my chiropractor (on paper) pretty much felt he did all he could for me...

Thanks for your reply. The vision issues I am experiencing are very similar to what you were describing, and they started also after a flight I took. How long until you started feeling better, and how long before you returned to playing hockey? Did the symptoms worses with playing or exercising? Did you experience any headcahes, migranes, light sensitivity?

Hey Baseball!
I started to feel better as soon as I started seeing my Chiropractor so about 11 months later. Initially we did some laser therapy and cranial work and continued that for a while... once he felt he exhausted his abilities I went, with my chiropractor (now a close friend of mine) in tow to a prolotherapist. Initially did some prolo to help stabilize my neck. Then did the neuroscience test and slowly everything for me started to fall back into place...

I played hockey throughout my PCS because I am an idiot and hockey relaxed me even tho it was probably the reason I ended up with the PCS. Im very fortunate I didnt receive any addiitonal problems but my game suffered a lot.. being a goalie I would lose sight of the puck and literally feel it hit me as apposed to see it hit me.

my symptoms did worsen in the first year when exercising.. I just remember it feeling like the stresses exerted on my body during exercise would really attack my vision.

I only had headaches for a cpl weeks fortunately

and my light sensitivity was a 8.5/10 for most of the first 18 months

hope that helps :) feel free to ask some more

Neuroscience is a group of companies that do lab tests and sells supplements for a variety of diagnosed hormone, neurotransmitter and other deficiencies/imbalances.

It consists of NeuroScience Inc. a distributor of the supplements and Pharmasan Labs, Inc. a co-located business that performs neurological, endocrinological, and immunological laboratory services.

I have taken the position of vitamin/nutritional therapy as a first resort before adding these other specialized supplements. When the body/brain has proper nutrition, many of the neurotransmitter deficiencies will be minimized.

NeuroScience supplements cost about $3.00 per day or more, depending on the lab recommendations.

The philosophy is one of
Treat the cause (injured brains need more nutrition than healthy brains)
or
Treat the symptoms (neurotransmitter imbalances)

Thanks Mikey. I am interested in your story because it relates to how I am feeling, especially the vision issues, I can't seem to shake them. You are the only person I have found that experienced what I am feeling. They also get worse when I exercise, work out, play sports etc. to the point where I become disoriented, although not dizzy or anything. This seems contradictory to the new exercise therapy pioneered at University of Buffalo, which is why I am very confused as to what is happening to my body right now. The weird thing is I have no headaches or light sensitivity. Is your chiropractor an upper cervical chiropractor? I am looking into seeing one of these in the next few weeks. So you went untreated for 11 months before seeing your chiropractor?

2 months prior to my "injury" (4 months ago) I stopped my Zoloft I was taking for 3 years (perscribed 3 years ago because my doctor thought my initial PCS was depression related) because I felt good. I am thinking maybe this injury triggered a more serious case of depression due to me being off the antidepressants. I started zoloft again 2 weeks ago. It is very aggrevating because prior to all this head injury stuff I was a perfectly level headed guy. I think PCS is directly causing the physical effects of depression and I have no control of it.
