What's worked and what hasn't worked for you folk?
I've had both type 1 and 2 attacks of TN with my MS. I've tried several different medications. Now I'm only taking a small amount of Clonazepam and Cesamet (Nabilone), and occasionally I get break-through pain or 'spells', but for the most part things have calmed significantly. I have tried anticonvulsants and antidepressants off label for TN in the past, none with very great results, except for what I'm on now. I know TN is different for everyone, and people respond well to different treatments. Just curious to hear what others have tried. ![]()

Hi dmplaura,
Try to find some muscle relaxants as they usually help (a bit) by TN. Otherwise you have to find out, how is with your Ganglion Gasseri (on the head) what is in most cases the cause for typical TN. You should make Ultra Scan or MRI of your head. Maybe they find there some blood vessel pressing on the nerve. I have one but in my case is very dangerous to do anything with that blood vessel. They have found it with MRI of my head. Hope to help you a bit. Bozena |
