Default a great message

Tracy, I wish that every caregiver had the chance to read this. TN is a challenge for patients, for families, for social contacts, for employers - and I don't know how often I've wished that I could just have a broken leg instead. The more you try to "tough it out", "soldier on", all those good coping things, the less your associates understand about the severity of the condition. Thanks for posting this. Nancy

I have to say that when I was only a caregiver for a child with TN, I had no clue what to do. I just gave the love I could and hoped for the best. The biggest challege I met was a child who tried to use the pain for her own purposes. After these last couples of months with me haveing the pain, I have discovered she deserved to be babied. She didnt want anyone around and yet you dont want to be alone. It is a hard road to travel but now I understand in a way I never did before. I know this sounds nuts but i am glad I have TN. If for no other reason than to understand my daughter. It has also put other pain in perspective. I could go on forever like this I think. It stinks to have TN. I cant use the air conditioner in the car, eat anything horriblely cold, etc. But I can take up my little girl into my arms hold her and say, " I understand sweetie" What more could I ask for?

This is wonderful, Tracy. Thank you for posting it. I'm thinking about condensing it down, to give to people like coworkers and supervisors, to help them understand. Who was the original author?

Hi Jan,
One of the committee members of the TNA-UK wrote it. It was used in one of the newsletters a few months back now, and it seemed to go down really well.
Go ahead and use it, she wrote it to help people and if it does that, then it was well worth writing

Hope your feeling better Jan, Hows the new home going?

Love Tracy.
