Default Unsure about diagnosis

Hello,

I am just learning what I can about TN as my neuro suspects that I have this. We had thought the shocks and stabbing pains on my cheek and eye were muscular (following a car accident and concussion). Since having 3 rounds of botox and no change, he now thinks it is TN.

I do have pain when moving my left eye, which doesn't seem consistent with TN, however I have the shocks/pains on my left side. I have taken Topomax (horrible for me) Gabapentin, Lyrica and Elavil (am currently on the last two)

I am usure that it is TN as I don't seem to have touch sesitivity to my face. I definetly flinch when getting the cutting sensation across my face, temple, eyebrow, cheek and nose. The areas will feel tender but touching these areas don't seem to trigger an attack.

Any advice, info, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated.

The shocks and stabbing pains sound like TN to me. Often the determining factor in diagnosis is whether an anti-seizure medicine helps the pain. If it helps, then you have TN. I hope you can find treatment that works well for you whatever you have.
