Amitriptyline for TN?

Default Amitriptyline for TN?
I am just wondering if anyone has use amitriptyline for TN pain? Did it work for you and what kind of side effects did it cause?

I take a medication in the same family called Desipramine. It does help. I think I may have gained about three pounds after taking it.

I also use a specially formulated prescription cream that I rub on my face where the pain is.

Although i am not cured, Desipramine and the cream together has helped me.
