Bobbi, how I can relate to this. The second branch and possibly the third branch of the trigeminal nerve was injured during left side Root canal and Gum surgery. We are not sure if it was the surgery itself or where they placed the injections. My injury escalated into full body RSD....After five years of pain and being house bound...and with the grace of God and some great DDS, neurologist, pain anesthesiogists, I rallied back. I am sooo careful now with any type of dental surgery on that side and no longer use marcaine and or ephriniphine. Carbocaine and Cyntrest is the only anesthetic I can use for dental work now. I just had oral surgery today and we were ever so careful.
