Paracetamol and ibuprofen are a given. I do not recommend codine as its addictive and deadening to your personality.

Meds can be effective and take the edge and bulk of the pain away but not all of it.

Avoid touching the side of the face at all, not the ears, nose, skin, scalp, anything.

Work out trigers and avoid, like rain or breeze etc

Heat packs and cold packs can give some relief but it hurts more after.

The miracle cure is capcisum, it kills off nerve endings. Rub it into effective areas, snort it from a nasal spray etc. It will hurt like nothing on earth for 30 min and your face will go bright red, and then it goes away and the pain is a bit better after.
