Well, after several months I've found a doctor in my home town who is experienced in treatment of TN.

I will meet with him in about a month. I'm going to ask a lot of questions about the advanced treatment methods - such as gamma knife, Microvascular Decompression, and other medicines, and their side effects. Also, does he know about the novel discovery recently used at the Mayo Clinic, which uses fibrin instead of teflon, which has been the classical substance used.

My TN has flared up recently and the tegretol is marginally effective, but are there new and more effective ones, such as Neurotoxin injections (e.g., Botox)

I'll keep you informed of what happens.

Wish me luck!
thanks
