Hi anyone with TN...I've had it for 6 years now. I'm at the top doses of medicine I can have, and yet the pain is still there when I swallow, talk or eat. I talk a strong pain reliever to get through meals and sleep. I'm have to get through 1 more month like this waiting for my surgery. The Gamma Knife is scheduled for January 2nd 2008.

Dear Madukes:
I hope that the strong meds you refer to are anti convulsants - they are the only kind of drug that will cover TN pain. Other usual pain killers, like over the counter, will not work. I hope that the Gamma Knife will bring you relief from pain. Please post after having that and let us know how you are doing. We wish you well. Shirley H. |

I also hope you'll post your experience. I'm still being pushed by the medical profession to consider surgery even though I don't want to.
Take care and all the best to you, Ellena |
