A CSF Leak is when the cerebral spinal fluid leaks out, either via the incision or sometimes through a persons nose...it's really serious, leaves a person vulnerable to infection and meningitis. It is one of the things they watch for after an MVD. But today I'm not "dripping" at all so everything is good.
AND, I think I can now say that I was wrong on Feb 5th when I said the surgery had not been successful. There has been a huge change/improvement in the past 10 days. I am now calling it "a success"!!!! Thank you for keeping an eye out for me. This has been a really rough go. But tomorrow is my 4 week anniversary of the surgery and I'm now definitely out of the woods. CAT |
