Default Green Tea

I've heard alot about the benefits of green tea. I really don't like the taste of it and don't want to use artificial sweetners anymore than I absolutely have to. Is the hype about its benefits really true? Is there a way to consume it without drinking it? What's the best way to get the maximum benefit from it?

Here is the article I was reading about it:

http://chinesefood.about.com/library.../aa011400a.htm

I found this. Is it as beneficial as drinking the tea?
