semi related note:

i just read this book. not to rain on the idea of supplements, the author isn't anti-supplement, but its totally changed the way i think of nutrients now.

Lightbulb

You can always use food instead of supplements. Just do the research carefully to see how to obtain what you need.

This is only effective if you do NOT have any issues with malabsorption ( as in Celiac patients), or some genetic need for higher levels of some nutrients due to genetic flaws. For example, some people are born with a higher need for B6 -- called infantile spasms (seizures).

Or if you have pernicious anemia and a failure of intrinsic factor, you won't absorb B12 from animal sourced foods.

There is not one absolute doctrine in medicine or nutrition that covers all people.
