Yesterday's New York Times had an article on Vitamin D. The "experts" quoted in that article said that they would like to start seeing everyone at Vitamin D levels above 30 nanograms. According to them, the average currently in the total population is 13-22 nanograms. They also state that 1,000-2,000 IUs per day of Vitamin D supplement is both recommended and safe.
At the time of my diagnosis of Small Fiber Neuropathy, I had a Vitamin D level of 48 ng/ml. My only supplement then was my daily multi-vitamin, which includes 1,000 IUs of Vitamin D. |
