Hi,
I think taking a B6 separately is fine, but if you do so I suggest you make it a coated p-5-p type, as our mrsd taught us over recent years, and make sure your B complex isn't extremely high in Pyridoxine Hcl form of B6 I also would take a B complex. And taking the methylcobalamin separately will allow you to get the most out of it. And I think one of the best things a person can do is to take an excellent fish-oil. rose

Jenny...do you eat calcium rich foods? An imbalance between calcium and magnesium may show as muscle twitches, cramps etc.
A calcium supplement may help.

hey, thanks for responding actually no, i don't really eat calcium rich foods. i didn't start taking magnesium however until after the muscle twitching began. i definitely need to be taking a calcium supplement, i know, i just keep forgetting. i'm not even sure if magnesium is helping or not because i'm on such a high dose of zanaflex that the twitches aren't nearly as bad as before. i do have a good fish oil supplement but i haven't been good about taking it due to their size and the fact that i'm supposed to be taking 6 capsules a day. not a good excuse i know. about the b-complex, didn't really understand what you said about b-5, i will google it. is it true that b-6 in hi doses can cause nerve damage? this is all very confusing to me. it seems like i should be taking just about everything, but very expensive and i'm sick of taking so many pills anyway, thanks again and any infor is greatly appreciated, jenny

Blah! Handfuls of pills. I could just about make a snack out of my daily doses of vitamins and supplements. And they're divided doses! If I had to take them all at the same time I'd be eating pills for about 5 minutes.
But they're working. Slowly but surely. The calcium I get from Rolaids. I can't take the supplements. It causes terrible constipation issues for me. Among other gastrointestional problems... Fish oil and garlic too. My cholesterol is high. I take 2 fish oil caps a day as directed on the bottle. Should I be taking more? They're a 1000mg each. The garlic, once a day per directions, also 1000mg. Oderless garlic my butt. I don't smell garlic after taking it or anything like that but open the bottle and whew! Yes, B-6 can cause further or new damage in very high doses but I'm still not sure how high is too high.

If you look back through past threads on this forum, you will find at least one devoted to B6.
