Default Supplements for CSF and double vision?

Hi,

My wife has had brain surgery and has CSF collection at the site of surgery, post-op (it's been 4 months now). She's had 1 Lumber Puncture done (very painful!). Also, during the surgery, VI nerve has been "touched!" due to which she has double vision. She also has a history of Nephrotic Syndrome (on steroid)

My question is:
1. Are there some supplements known to "fry off" CSF?
2. Are there some supplements which help in nerve re-generation (VI nerve)?

I'll be eagerly waiting to hear from you.

Cheers,
Savinder

Post Sorry...

I don't know of any supplements that will reduce CSF levels.

I do know things that will raise CSF pressure, and I assume your wife has
been told to avoid them.

Essential fatty acids will help to repair nerves. So will B12, and folic acid.
(Flax oil and fish oil).

In cases of pseudotumor cerebri (which has increased CSF pressure), doctors sometimes use a diuretic called
Diamox. This is a prescription drug. If this does not work, then a shunt is installed.

This is a tough place for her to be. Wishing you and she the best.

My neurologist at my last appt. told me it was important to be getting enough Vitamin D, which is important for nerve health. I "googled" Vit D and nerve regeneration, and it looks like there is a study in rats and primates.

I have MS and my son, 14 yr., Pseudotumor Cerebri. My son has had 7 LPs. I have double-vision, so I know how she feels. Very tiring and frustrating.

Bless her heart.
