I am not diabetitic but have some issues I think with blood sugar. Anyhow I was reading about cinnamon and helping with blood sugar. Is this true and is it like the kind that comes in the bottle(ground cinnamon).Thanks.

This link illustrates the confusing studies. In general there are some benefits, but "treating" existing diabetes is still unproven. Pick a reputable supplier and buy theirs. There ARE different sources of cinnamon from different plants, as noted in the article.

we have many posts on nt about this.
it's amazing stuff. you will find it in the supplement section. they come in gel caps. i am a self admitted candy lover. craved it. needed it. since taking cinnamon i eat no sweets. use the search feature to pull up the posts. |

I am glad it is working for you. A unplanned trial of sorbitol also seems to have killed my little sweet tooth as well. Sounds like the cinnamon is preventing low blood sugars, which lead to cravings. Perhaps they should do a study on craving as well?

welcome home mrsd.
![]() i'm not diabetic, so i don't check my blood sugar. could be that the cinnamon helps in the metabolism of the sugars (carbs) i do eat and i don't have the highs and lows? but for me to say no thanks to chocolate covered raisins and peanut m&m's.....i'd say it's doing something good. for my waistline too. ![]() |

With my Hershey's debacle and their inclusion of new emulsifier
from Castor Beans, and the Sorbitol that were in the Cherry Cordial Kisses...I have sworn off Hershey's. The emulsifier is in the candy bars, but hubby says it does not affect him. My partial love now is the DARK M & M's....they don't have any weird ingredients and still use cocoa etc. There is less sugar in them too I think. I like having just a few and not committing to a whole candy bar which I really need like a hole in the head. But I do get some choccy cravings when it is cold, damp or low barometric pressure (storms coming etc). I have been just not eating during summer, and have lost weight. Not visiting the outhouse constantly is a huge motivator! LOL Here is a picture of our "bathroom" taken in 2006. It is not pleasant when a raging storm is in progress and the door slams shut on you in the DARK. I made it a bit homey, but there is only so much one can do about it. It is a two seater--and bigger than usual so the claustrophobia is less. The sorbitol situation also was a "clean up" problem if you get my drift....no running water out there either---- I was totally mad at Hershey's for all this discomfort!

Thank you. I too am a huge candy eater and it is out of control. I too have a lot of stomach issues but more constipation/bloating. The amount of sugar in my diet makes me nauseas but I still consume a lot. I am really going to start to work on this and better choices. So many years of nutrition therapy I have had and though now eat the choices are full of crud. Sorry Mrs D for your issues. That sounds horrible. I hope there were still times you could enjoy your trip.Be careful with the not eating. I know you are a smart person but as a person who struggled for many years with eating too little it comes with extreme mental and physical issues.

I wsa a huge candy eater as well. I take the cinammon and it helps me. I use the new chapter organics cinammon. |

Thanks. I bought some at Trader joes that is suppose to be all natural. Didn't know there was not an all natural. Will see, I hope it helps with my sweet tooth.

Great! Make sure its not the ground kind for baking. Dont want to use that one overt ime because it has impurities.
