I ate and drank the rest of the alcohol in my house that I like, hubby drinks IPA'S that are bitter and I don't like them.

well I bought more ciders and drank 3 and we went out for dinner and had bang bang shrimp and I had tuna tacos and hubby had scallops at bone fish grill and had a couple of beers and came home. had fun talked to a woman named rachael about different places to eat she is from california and travels here often.

One month ago I was at my highest weight in years 160!!!! This happened because I ate and drank as I pleased over the holidays.
Down to 154 this morning. calling it early 16 days AF.
Picked up my new running shoes yesterday. Yes they are purple and teal and very pretty!
Looking at joining another gym and putting my current one on hold.
planet fitness only costs $10 a month, they have alot of tred mills and are open 24/7 so that is good. My current gym(reds) closes early on the weekends 8pm and that is when I like to go. Reds costs $61 amonth and I have not been going so that is Depressing and such a waste of money. Since I have not been drinking I can no longer use that as an excuse to not go. I tried to not drink and drive.
When I was training for the 10 k I was using the health club which had more amenities(and is huge!!!!) but the new club has more personalized attention(but is much smaller) and is easier to maneuver thru the machines(30 minute work out area) I might actually use them. I will have to bring a lock to lock up my things which is a bummer, I can do this. If I want to take a shower there I would have to bring my own towel and soap....I don't see doing that when I live 1 mile from there I would just go home. The thing about the circuit training machine area is that I would be sweating then have to take showers more frequently...and you know how I feel about showering.
Jeff wants to join too. We will be going at different times.
I will put my current membership on hold for 3 months(won't have to pay) then decide if I will cancel it permanently. There is a $259 registration fee for reds and I have started 3 times over the 14 years that I have been a member. This new planet fitness gym has an annual member ship fee of $29 dollars collected on June 1st.
With my new shoes and socks in and my not drinking,
I don't have any more excuses not to go and work out.
I will try to go 3 times a week. Maybe more often if I like the 30 minute work out area.
I am excited about going, something new and I will be working toward better over all health and well being.
Tonight is the first nite for mardi gras carnival of parades, floats, bands, and beads! Should be fun!
Fat tuesday is feb 17th the day before ash wednesday which falls early this year.

A woman with a plan! Go Bizi!

I've never gone to a gym - gym-aphobic?? I try to go for walks and play some ping pong. Life is a liitle chaotic right now and that's when it gets hard to eat properly. Lost some weight a year or so ago (thank you over-active thyroid) and trying desperately to not put it back now that I'm back to "normal".

I guess once you've had a weight problem, you have to always be vigilant that you don't let it creep back up. I've battled the same 20-25 pounds my entire adult life. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose (well, gain).

I have been 200 pounds...yikes!
so when I hit 160 it really scared me....Just think I was 122 pounds 3 years ago. now I was not fit and looked too thin on some parts of my body...body dismorphic I think you call it something like that. I would like to get down to 135. I weighed 154 yesterday so that is down 6 pounds in a month. 19 more pounds to go. it wasn't that long ago that I was at 145 then my drinking escalated and started gaining fast then the holidays came and I was eating and drinking freely an extra 10 just came on easily. Wow!
so easy to gain weight! so hard to lose.

I hear you. I gained four pounds over Xmas and can't seem to get it off. I've had a house guest since Thursday and I've been stress eating. She's high maintenance as she's somewhat disabled.

My highest was 172 and then I did Atkins and got down to 148. I kept some off but about half crept back on. Then I lost some on my own, later had my thyroid go whacko and went down to 139 but I was quite sick so didn't really get to enjoy it. Now I'm hovering around 150, drat.

I would like to get down to 135 also, but would settle happily enough at 140. Grandma's can have a little extra....... can't they?

hi carol. You know that as we get older we lose muscle. so my goal for 140 I will still look overweight as I have lost muscle mass. Unless i am willing to start doing ab/core exercises then I will always have a pooch.

153 this morning....so it is going in the right direction.
I am trying to follow a low carb diet. but am not counting carbs, just not drinking any calories, just water and coffee with half and half. and eating as healthy as I can.

Had a cup of coffee with stevia sweetener and half and half.
good breakfast/brunch this morning. 3 scrambled eggs with spinach topped with black bean salsa and a side of brocolli.
delicious! We are going to a cook out this evening will bring salad. He is cooking his special hamburgers. I won't eat the bread. need to bring another veggie. I read the other day that we are supposed to eat 11 servings of fruits and veggies A DAY!!!! Can you imagine eating that much!
on top of drinking 8 glasses of water. I will eat a pear this afternoon. and maybe bring some strawberries for the cook out.
It is 63 degrees and 100% humidity so a damp chill. gloomey today. still enjoying the memory of our glorious day yesterday canoeing thru the swamp/cypress trees.

The other day i decided to have a smoothie.
used a lot of kale, frozen blueberries and a cup of lite cranberry juice for an additional 4+ servings of veggies and fruits.
I should drink smoothies again.

I don't think my muscle mass has changed too much as I run up and down stairs all day and walk as much as I can. I'm in better shape now than I was some years when I was younger. My problem is the extra skin around the middle from carrying my second child who was 9 lb, 11.5 oz when I'm only 5'3". Let's just say that didn't improve with age.... I'm too chicken to have a tummy tuck, which is the only remedy.

I was at 149 the other day so back in the right direction. I've been helping my son pack & clean as he's moving in the next few days. Then I'll be helping him clean & unpack...

I love the food you eat Bizi!
