I want to come and eat with you! It sounds so much better than the boring food I eat. We don't go out to eat much as my husband is on dialysis. Hopefully he'll get a kidney later this year and be able to eat better foods again. At least he's healthy ('cept for the kidneys) and is able to work full time.

Congrats on your weight loss & alcohol free days.

thanks carol!
I joined a meet up group, acadian fitness.
They meet for the first time tonight at 7 pm for an hour then I will go to the gym. I invited my girlfriend who I went to the movie last night we were just talking about how hard it is to make new friends. I invited her to join me since this is a way to meet new people. She may not be comfortable going. She has gained alot of weight this year. We both said we would like to jog run a 5 k this year and she wants to do the cajun cup again this year.
that is a 10 k that we did last year. I felt badly because I left her to jog on my own because I did not want to be last. Jogging went fine so I think I can do it. My legs are a bit sore from using the new arc trainer machine. It is self propelled so acts differently than a tred mill less impact on my joints better work out.

I have a treadmill for when I don't have somebody to go for walks with. I don't use it that often as I get dizzy and nauseous afterwards. I'm fine while I'm walking, but as soon as I get off the treadmill, it's like I have motion sickness. I used to get that all the time as a child, and occasionally as an adult, so it's a familiar unpleasant feeling that I tend to avoid.

That's great that you do the 10K and enjoy jogging. I don't like jogging but my friend and I used to go for 5K walks several times per week. We haven't gone for awhile as she's having problems with her legs. I need to either find another walking buddy or get on that treadmill and suck it up.

sorry you get motion sickness from the tred mill.
awful
I have yet to jog but am trying to be brave and try it.
I have new running shoes so maybe it won't hurt this time when I try to run on the tred mill.
I just need to do it!
have a great day!
Good luck finding a new walking buddy!

UGH!!!!!
I just got back from shopping....the worst thing to shop for???
BRAS!
I finally found a bra that fits now and will fit even better 10-15 pounds from now.
So I bought the only 4 in stock different colors, plum, silver and white.
I threw my old, ill fitted, stretched out, some torn, safety pinned ones away. They were on sale and I got another purse that I like in a silver color for more formal attire. I now have that purse in Sage green, coral, white and cranberry and now in silver. I am using the cranberry one now it goes with my winter coat. It is hard to find purses this size, small!
I went to kohls to use my gift cards from christmas and ended up using my kohls charge card to save an extra 15% from my already on sale items. And got a $20 gift rewards to be used on march 16th-22nd. I will just buy new underware with the $20. Then save my gift cards to go shopping when I reach my goal weight at jeffs suggestion.
He is a good man.
WE went to friends house for dinner tonight. I ate some chicken because I did not know how much they were going to serve of protein. They had bean soup with pieces of ham I think....too many carbs so am glad that I ate the chicken. Ate alot like 2 cups of fresh fruit(straw berries, blue berrries, cantelope, honey dew melon, kiwi, grapes, pineapple) and tabouli and a small bowl of soup. After dinner I then ate 3 pieces of chocolates....They were delicious!
sigh that won't kill me!
I will try to get up early and go to the farmers market, then we will go to chris for gumbo and then I am getting my hair colored tomorrow at 1pm till 4 at the latest and then go to the gym. jasons deli for dinner and then maybe a play, or a movie. IT should reach 60 degrees, rain on sunday. (43 days AF)
Have a great weekend!

Dinner tonight was beef spagetti whole wheat bow tie pasta, and a ceasar salad. It was good, I went easy on the pasta!
Went to planet fitness, Julie got there at 8 and I showed her around.
She ended up signing up. yeah!
She had taken a break from work to meet me. I think she will be working out at 3 am after the bar closes down. She is the manager at the tap room.
After that I did an hour of cardio, the hardest that I have worked out so far...ie I sweat the most. 30 minutes on the arc trainer than 30 minutes on the tred mill:
JOGGING for a bit then walking then jogging then walking.
a5-6 mph jog then walked 3.5-4mph depending how tired I was.
I did it! It did not hurt my neck!
I will be able to jog a 5k that is 3.2 miles....

Red face

Today I struggled.
I made it 50 days alcohol free and wavered tonight.
Earlier in the day I thought I could drink tonight...it is saturday and I don't have to work tomorrow nor worry about the crappy sleep that I would get if I drank.....I pondered this several times thru out the day. I kept thinking was this logical? and would think about something else.
WE had a good thia chicken and steamed calflower for dinner, it was good.
Then got ready to go to the concert. piano, violin and cello and viola.
Before the concert hubby wanted to stop and get a new beer.
It was testing fate that I walked in causally with my hubby into the liquor store. I walked around noticing all of the different kinds....wine on sale $3.99 a bottle! oh look, Dramboui $41 dollars...my favorite sipping drink..Oh there is twisted tea lemonade...I bet that is good. oh there is a russian imperial stout...oh maybe I could just drink one big bottle and be satisfied with that.
nope I wanted to get drunk......
Then I thought about my commitments...
100 day challenge with Belle
my spark people buddies
it is lent though I am not religious.
SMART recovery folks....
My bipolar family....
to my dieting friends
and myself.
I calmly walked out of the store empty handed.
I did not tell jeff of my struggle, it is an internal struggle that he knows nothing about.
It is my struggle.
I spoke with my sister yesterday and told her that I had made it 50 days. and she said I am sorry. Then she said oh...am I supposed to say great job! and I said yes.
I tried to tell her how much I had been drinking ( black outs, throw ups, crying in public, the lying, how I would drink a case of 8% drinks in 3 days), she thought it was good that I could stop at 4.....and she doesn't get it. So I need to stop talking about it to her. She is my twin and I love her and she wants me to be happy. I resent the fact that I can't handle alcohol anymore. It is just easier not drinking then trying to moderate then be drunk every other night because I can't stop.
Any way.
Tonight, after the concert, there was a party, we were invited to go...
One of the performers asked if we were going...
I told her no that I was dieting and not drinking, she said well that would make it kind of boring then and seemed to understand the dieting part.
That is the excuse I give for denying my wants and pleasures of food...my clients offer me chocolates and cake, I tell them that I am dieting. They understand. My girl friend today after our walk in the park asked if I wanted chocolate ice cream...I said no. I think she was just being polite because she was eating it, not that she was trying to derail my dieting efforts. I would have eaten the entire container...that is why I don't buy ice cream or other deserts except for dark chocolate kisses that we keep in the freezer and have a couple every night if we want. Like alcohol it is easiest to not keep any in the house.
So I made it to 51 days.
whew!
Thanks to everyone of you who support me in this endeavor.
I am worthy of this struggle.

I am so proud of you! You really thought it through and then stuck to it. Congrats too on the successful exercise program.

I don't really drink so don't have issues with that, but food.... that's another story. I too, cannot have foods in the house that I shouldn't eat. They call to me....

My weight has been stuck for awhile now, but at least I'm not gaining. I really want to lose 10-15 pounds more and then I'll be relatively happy about it. I find that when I'm really busy, it's harder because I don't have the time to shop and cook the way I'd like. By the same token, I don't have time to bake anything "bad" either.
